This week in Seventh Grade Math…
**This week all students should have 14 objectives mastered in Accelerated Math. Please encourage your child to work on it outside of class if he/she is behind. Visit the Accelerated Math page on my blog to find out more information regarding the program.
All groups: This week we will continue working on adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers. We will have a short quiz on this on Friday. We will also begin multiplying and dividing fractions and mixed numbers this week.
This week in Eighth Grade Math…
**This week students in White and Red groups should have 14 objectives mastered in Accelerated Math. Students in the Blue group should have 16 objectives mastered. Please encourage your child to work on it outside of class if he/she is behind. Visit the Accelerated Math page on my blog to find out more information regarding the program.
Red: This week we are starting Chapter 3 in our book, which is all about algebraic expressions and equations.
Blue: This week we will continue in Chapter 3 with algebraic expressions and equations. We will also begin writing algebraic expressions.
White: This week we will continue in chapter 2 with solving equations. The next section is on solving word problems using equations.

This week in Seventh Grade Math…
**Due to Monday’s holiday, we will not have Accelerated Math this week. Students should have 12 objectives mastered thus far. Also, just a reminder that progress reports go this Wednesday. If you see the symbol “NC” on your child’s report, that means the assignment was not completed and has resulted in a zero. If you see “**”, that means the assignment has not been put into the computer yet. If your child is looking for extra credit, they should work on their Accelerated Math outside of class to get ahead. Please see the Accelerated Math page on my blog for more information.

This week in Seventh Grade Math…
**This week all students should have 12 objectives mastered in Accelerated Math. Progress reports go home next week. All tests should be scanned by Friday if the student wants it to count on his/her progress report.
All groups: This week we are finishing the first half of our fractions chapter. We will have a quiz on this on Friday. The study guide should be in your child’s binder. This week we will also begin adding and subtracting fractions.

**This week, students in the Red and White groups should have 12 objectives mastered in Accelerated Math, and students in the Blue group should have 14 objectives mastered. Progress reports go home next week. All tests should be scanned by Friday if the student wants it to count on his/her progress report.
Red: This week we will finish up Chapter 2 with Scientific Notation. Friday we will have a quiz on the second half of the chapter. Next week will be our chapter test.
Blue: This week we will finish up Chapter 2 with Scientific Notation with negative exponents. Thursday we will have a quiz on the second half of the chapter. Next Wednesday will be our chapter test.
White: This week we will continue working in Chapter 2 on solving equations. Thursday we will have a quiz on solving one and two-step equations.

**This week all students should have 8 objectives mastered in Accelerated Math. Please encourage your child to work outside of class if he/she is behind or looking for extra credit.
All groups: This week we will continue working on GCF and LCM. We will also begin equivalent fractions and lowest terms.
This week in Eighth Grade Math…
**This week the White and Red groups should have 8 objectives mastered in Accelerated Math. The Blue group should have 10 objectives mastered.
Red and Blue: This week we will continue working on order of operations with integers and begin scientific notation.
White: Tuesday and Wednesday we will review for our Chapter 1 test which will be on Thursday. Friday we will begin Chapter 2.

All groups: Tuesday is our chapter test on decimals. Please make sure that your child is prepared. Wednesday, we will start our chapter on fractions.
This week Eighth Grade Math…
**This week the Red and White groups should have 6 objectives mastered in Accelerated Math. The Blue group should have 8 objectives mastered. Please encourage your child to work on it outside of class if he/she is behind.
Red and Blue: This week we will continue practicing operations with integers. Friday we will have a quiz on this. We have been taking practice quizzes for several days and will continue this week. Your child should have several resources to use for studying/review. We will also begin order of operations this week.
White: Tuesday we will take our quiz on operations with integers. We will then begin the distributive property and finish the chapter with the coordinate plane.

All groups: This week we will be finishing our chapter on decimals with scientific notation, exponents, and powers of ten. We will also be reviewing for our decimal test which will be on Tuesday, December 6.

**This week all students in the Red and White groups should have 4 objectives mastered in Accelerated Math. Students in the Blue Group should have 6 objectives mastered. Please encourage your child to work on it outside of class if he/she is behind or looking for extra credit.
Red and Blue: This week we will continue working on operations with integers. We will review addition and begin subtraction, multiplication, and division. We will also start practicing our timed integer operation quizzes. Operations with integers are so important in our preparation for Algebra. Please work with your child at home if they need extra practice.
White: This week we will continue operations with real numbers. We will also begin practicing our timed integer quizzes.

This week in Seventh Grade Math…
**It’s hard to believe how fast the time has gone, but we’ve made it to trimester 2!! I can’t believe Thanksgiving is almost here!
Due to the new trimester, all students are starting fresh with their Accelerated Math objectives. Two objectives should be mastered this week.
All groups: This week we will continue working on dividing decimals, and we will begin Scientific Notation. Friday, we will have a short quiz on multiplying and dividing decimals. Report cards also go home Friday.

**It’s hard to believe how fast the time has gone, but we’ve made it to trimester 2!! I can’t believe Thanksgiving is almost here!
Due to the new trimester, all students are starting fresh with their Accelerated Math objectives. Because of the EXPLORE test, only the 8 Blue group should have two objectives should be mastered this week.
Blue and Red: This week we will begin our work in Chapter 2 on integers.
White: This week we will continue working on operations with Real Numbers.

This week in Seventh Grade Math…
**Just a reminder that Friday is the final day of trimester 1. Students should have 16 objectives mastered in Accelerated Math. All Accelerated tests must be scanned by Friday.
All groups: This week we will be be learning how to divide decimals and how to solve equations that involve dividing decimals. We will also review adding, subtracting, and multiplying decimals.

White: This week we will begin adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing real numbers–sections 4-6 in Chapter 1. Friday we will be reviewing for Monday’s explorer test.
The Week of November 14th »« The Week of October 31st
This week in Seventh Grade Math…
**This week all students should have 14 objectives in Accelerated Math. Next Monday is our final Accelerated Math for the first trimester. If your child is behind or looking for extra credit, please encourage them to work on their assignments outside of class.
All groups: This week we are continuing our work in the decimals chapter with all operations with decimals. The students are doing very well with this! Friday we will have a short quiz on adding and subtracting decimals.

**This week all students should have 14 objectives in Accelerated Math. Next Monday is our final Accelerated Math for the first trimester. If your child is behind or looking for extra credit, please encourage them to work on their assignments outside of class.
Red and Blue: This week we will continue working on percent increase, and we will begin percent decrease. Our chapter 6 test is tentatively scheduled for next Thursday, 11/10.
White: This week we will begin section 3 in chapter 1, on Exploring Real Numbers. Friday we will have a short quiz on the first 3 sections of chapter 1.

This week in Seventh Grade Math…
**This week all students should have 12 objectives mastered in Accelerated Math. Please encourage your child to work on it outside of class if he/she is behind or looking for extra credit. Only three more weeks this trimester!!
All groups: This week we will be working in our Decimals Chapter. We are learning about place value, comparing/ordering decimals, rounding, estimating, and addition and subtraction.

Red and Blue: This week we will continue working on solving/estimating percents mentally. We will have a quiz on this Friday. We will also begin percent increase this week.
White: This week we will review the first section in Chapter 1, Using Variables and begin the second section, Exponents and Order of Operations. If time allows, we will begin section 3.
